Hello everyone, I am an 18 year old part time college student. I will have but no choice in the upcoming weeks (months?) but to move out of my house, and cost of living in Maryland is ridiculously expensive.

My question for you arizona natives, what's the cost of living like? Will I have a hard time landing a job? Will I be able to live off of or around minimum wage?

Thank you!

There are topics very commonly discussed on this board. All these factors vary greatly depending on where in the state you are looking at. Try using the search function on the forum.

The short answer is no.

You might be able to get by for a while if you have some money saved up, but if you don't have an education and/or a marketable skill/trade, then you're going to have tremendous difficulty getting by working a minimum wage job, especially in a city like Phoenix where competition for minimum wage jobs is rather fierce due to low education attainment levels among residents and lots of new arrivals who also happen to be in similar situations such as yourself.

I think you need a better plan before you move across the country to Phoenix. If you have any specific questions in particular, feel free to ask me.
