I am not at all an experienced gardener In fact, these are the first trees I've ever owned.
Soon after I planted them, leaves started looking torn up, yellow, curled, etc. I checked and saw some sort of insects on one. Clipped those leaves off and sprayed all four trees with malathion. It has been a week and today I noticed black dots on orange tree and yellow/torn leaves on lemon. Lemon does not look good, I am afraid The orange tree (with black dots) looks fine overall but I am afraid it is not for long.
Thank you.

Looks to be 'citrus thrip' damage, common with citrus trees. Google citrus thrip photos for more information.
