I'm building a home in Ironwood Crossing in San Tan Valley / Queen Creek area, and I did search the forum for answers, but the threads are several years old. Where we live now, it's flat as a pancake, and the cell phone reception is quite good; so good in fact, that we haven't had a land line phone for probably 4 years.

How do you all feel about not having a land line phone there? Is the reception good enough to go without a land line. Any trouble using a cell indoors? I ask because I have a brother in CA who can hardly use his cell phone, yet he has no land line, so it's like going back in time when we want to reach him. Calls don't go through, get dropped, etc.

Is there a cell carrier that is markedly better than the others for reception? If there is an issue, I'll go with either Ooma or MagicJack for home, and would like any input from people who use these products too.

The last I checked, which was in 2007, I found Verizon to be far superior to their competition in Queen Creek. I don't know if things have changed since then.

We also used both a MagicJack & NetTalk at home, without any issues whatsoever. Nobody we spoke with knew we were on VoIP, rather than actual landlines, unless we told them.

I'm in the Riggs/Ellsworth area. No land line for us; we only use our Verizon cell phones and have no issues whatsoever.

I live in San Tan Valley around Ironwood and Ocotillo, and Verizon works great.

When I moved here in 2004 I had Qwest/Century Link and the reception was so bad I was released early from my contract with no penalty.

I haven't had any problems with Verizon.

Anyone care to weigh in about AT&T out in the San Tan Valley area? I've been with them for several years, but I'm not married to them, so if Verizon is the way to go, I'd rather switch than fight.
