Actually I found a place that I can pull in a good number of stations but it requires the antenna to be outside and on the roof(1 story) in a certain area on the roof. I'm using an Antennas Direct C2 vhf/uhf model. Before I permantely mount the antenna, I'm going to try to put it in the attic near some wood vents open to the outside but I don't think I'll pick up much, if anything.

Smile OTA Antenna HD

My wife and I live in Goodyear, Pebble Creek, Zip 85395. We tested a TVHD OTA today. We are delighted to learn that we can receive approximately 65 tv stations.

We have been Cable customers for many years but we have almost zero interest in most of the Channels. We enjoy Movies (old and new) and much of the PBS productions. We plan to keep our Cox connection for a few more weeks before we decide to "Cut-the-Cable.

It really looks like we can save $1500 per year.

Located in Estrella Mountain Ranch: Depending on which antenna I use and the location height, I get 22 to 32 OTA channels. The antennas tried are ESky 150 Mile Amplified (directional), MOHU Sky 60 HD Amplified (multi-directional) and the RCA YAGI style HD Non-Amplified (directional) and an Antennas Direct Indoor/Outdoor Non-Amplified (omni - directional). With the antennas indoors on the 2nd floor and pointed 82 degrees East, you get 12 to 18 channels. With the antennas mounted outside on the patio roof (15 ft 82 degrees East) 22 to 32 channels (lots of duplicates). It was all "buy and try", but they all worked and had their pros and cons (price, asthetics etc.). Settled on the Yagi style RCA installed outdoors at 15ft pointed 82 degrees East (32 channels) and attached a mast mounted Winegard LNA-200 Boost XT Digital HDTV Preamplifier with an Antennas Direct 4 Port DTV Distribution Amplifier to feed the 4 television sets. Get all OTA networks except CBS (need to move antena higher to clear palm trees). Used COX for 16 years, but the upcomming COX requirement for mini-boxes at each TV to de-scramble their video signal (cancels out your built-in tv tuner) pushed us towards OTA with ROKUs at each TV and COX Internet for video streaming. As a bonus the OTA picture quality is much better than the COX video (HD is free OTA while COX charges additional fees). As with other posters do your research a: https://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/ How to Estimate TV Reception in Your Area - Disable My Cable Blog TV Antenna Selection Guide TV Fool and others. Don't forget to read the EMR H.O.A. concerning antennas. Two online versions are at: Villages Antenna Resolution - Homes In Estrella Mountain For Sale and http://cantamiaestrella.net/ResourceCenter/Download/19274~456959?view=1.
Good Luck and enjoy OTA (again).
