I've never had that problem, in any house I've lived in here in the Valley. It really does vary.

It is a bummer. Cold water again in the late fall for us.

I grew up in Cleveland,Ohio and I remember having Ice Cold water right out of the tap and it tasted clean and fresh.
Been here in PHX since 2004 and finally I can say, I can stomach the Tap water. there are some days when it,s so overly chlorinated, it taste like pool water.
But to get it cold, you need the Ice Cubes.

Is there any way to get cold water, or am i stuck with lukewarm water for the next few months until it cools off? This seems ridiculous to me
I don't know if it's true or not, but I had been told the water lines aren't far enough underground to get cold water, unless there is sustained cold outdoor temperatures and subsequent ground cooling. The only way I was able to get cold water most of the time was by using the water from the door of the freezer.

It would have been a great scene for Candid Camera when I stuck my hand into the toilet the first time to wash it. I was expecting ice cold water and instead stuck my hand into very warm water. I was caught so off-guard, I pulled my hand back and screamed. LOL

You stick your hand in the toilet water to wash it? That is why they make toilet brushes so you don't have to stick your hand in the toilet.

I think many cities have water storage tanks where ground water is pumped and stored until it is used and that is where the water heats up. Water will get very hot in an above ground storage tank.

When I visit in the summer, I don't bother turning on the hot water. The temperature is completely acceptable for a warm shower.

I keep my drinking water in the fridge. As said it varies. Depth, length exposed to shallow soil or just under the pavement, amount of sun hitting on said pavement, etc.

My tap water isn't warm enough to take a shower in. It isn't too warm to brush my teeth with. But it isn't cool enough to drink. This time of year. In the winter my tap water is cold.

Two years ago when we first moved here in late June I noticed the clothes coming out of the washer were hot. I thought I had hooked the hoses up backward until I thought that through for a few seconds and then realized...hey...it's a desert....
