I live in east Mesa. I got tired of Verizon and switched to T-Mobile 3 months ago. So far the coverage has been as good as verizon. The only exception was at the central Oregon coast. Not very god reception there at all but here in Arizona, the coverage has been wonderful.

It's good as long as you stay in the area and don't travel. Otherwise go with Verizon.

I've found AT&T to be real good in the valley, even on the NW edge of the valley, don't know about T-Mobile but I can tell you Sprint is beyond abyssmal almost anywhere in the valley.

Had T-Mobile phone from work and a Verizon for personal use. I would drop calls with T-Mobile in the middle of Phoenix. There were spots in my house where T-Mobile wouldn't work. I've driven all over the western US with my Verizon phone and had coverage for over 90% of my travels.

I just switched to T-Mobile 6 weeks ago. I drive all over the valley and just went up to Vegas and back. Only had reception problems inside the hotel in Vegas and around some mountains on the drive back. I have no problems at all so far in Phoenix. My coverage up in the White Mountains was spotty, but one friend had Verizon and the other had Sprint and they were having the same reception problems.

FWIW - I had Sprint for 28 years and never had any problems here or in most of the mainland states. A little dicey in Canada when roaming. Not good in Hawaii on some neighbor islands. But decent coverage all over the US. Switched from them only because I just didn't want a contract anymore and they didn't support the new Blackberry Z10 (which BTW is REALLY cool! I got a GSM model for international travel. Love it.)
