It's very difficult to rate an entire ZIP code. In many areas of the Valley, neighborhoods can change very quickly, and some ZIP code areas cover a lot of ground. I assume you are primarily asking about crime statistics, there are several places to do research on those.

It will help people give you more meaningful answers if you tell us what you are looking for in a place to live, generally what your budget is, whether schools are an issue, etc.

Thank You obsever53 you have been so helpful to me in all my questions. We have a cash budget of 65,000. We have no kids so schools are not an issues but we have the 2 dogs one 25lbs other 65lbs they are our kids. We want to be within a couple miles of stores like Walmart for shopping. We also are trying to find a first floor condo with in unit washer dryer. As far a crime that is a concern. Were we live now it is a bit above average for crime and no bother to us due to we do not get involved with that crowd.

That $65K is going to be a problem, I fear. Consider taking out a mortgage. Also consider what the monthly fees are for the condo association to be sure you can cover them.

That said, definitely look at South Scottsdale. While older, the neighborhoods are generally quite safe and very convenient. I think you'd find public transportation available for your husband. Be aware that some of the communities are actually co-ops, not condos.

Get a very good realtor - PLEASE.

Good Luck!

I don't know where you are reading such things, but this is such a gross exaggeration that it is not worthy of any further response. There's some crime everywhere, but there are many generally safe areas in the Phoenix metro area. That said, your budget is not going to get you much, so you are going to have to look at a mortgage on a reasonably priced older home (south Scottsdale is one good suggestion) where you will not have the condo fees on top of your mortgage. Do some searching on the internet to see what's available at a price you could afford and, as suggested above, get some help from a realtor.

There is no were(nowhere??) safe... ???

Been in ZIP 85212 for the last two years and the only crime I came across was my neighbor's kids ringing my bell at 10 pm and running away. I can keep my home unlocked and garage open 24 hr a day and not a single soul would attempt to enter or deprive me of any valuables.

There is no one that is going to suggest or agree that THIS is a good idea.

It's just a matter of time. . .

Zip 85212 is not small and luckily I own a house in one of the safest Desert Valley communities. I wrote "I can keep" my garage open but I don't cause I am afraid my Ferrari might catch a cold LOL. You know what I mean
