City Scape apartments by Rural Rd & Lakeshore (NEC of Rural & Baseline). It's a pretty nice complex for Tempe, about 3 miles south of campus. Don't quote me on this, but I think those apartments have garages.

Look into Mark Taylor or Trillium. You won't really find "affordable" places with garages. Most communities add on 100-150 a month for a single car garage. If the place seems to good to be true in price there probably is a reason for that.

Galleria Palms on Priest between Baseline and Southern. We have a great rate because we moved in 4+ years ago and they haven't increased it much. I think new rentals are a little high and garages are $60-100 per car. Not a phenomenal area of tempe but the amenities are nice and it is gated so it's nice and safe.

I also had an attached garage with an Apartment in Phoenix - Andover Square. It's at 16th st btw Camelback and Indian School. I think that was about 15-20 minutes to school when I was at ASU. That was a while ago, so they might be condos by now...
