I've been looking at communities in the west valley and would like to know about some of the communities in the east valley. I presently live in Florida but would like to relocate closer to family. Anything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated. Did you like Solera? What made you chose that community over the others? Some of them seem older, meaning the home would need updating. Just trying to gather some info, thanks!

I live at Encanterra Country Club by Shea Homes in San Tan Valley. It is wonderful. Brand new homes with every amenity, 3 pools, 4 restaurants, golf, tennis. It's gorgeous.

There are many to choose from! This website will tell you a little bit about each one: Mesa, AZ 55+ Active Adult Retirement Communities in Mesa Arizona

The amenities and prices will vary, but there is something for everyone. Leisure World is one of the oldest, but it is very well kept. They've just added new tennis and pickle ball courts. Many of the homes have been updated, too. They are one of the few that actually has a guard at the gate and really screens visitors.
