It was far preferable to doing the same installation in Edmonton with no furnace nearby. Difficult to use tools and operate instrumentation wearing 2 pair of gloves and dressed like the Michelin man.

Was repairing equipment at a drive up house on Roosevelt. Worked there that Mon-Fri. I think one of the days it hit 125. It was hot but nowadays it seems like there is more radiation and burning coming from the Sun. Seems more intense now.

I wonder how many tires blew out that day due to the concrete being as hot as a skillet

It was the actual Pinnacle Peak Mountain in Scottsdale. Orange groves where on the west side. And yes I do remember hunting doves etc and the "groves" semingly stretching for miles and miles. It was when The Pinnacle Peak Patio Steakhouse was there though.

I was working fire department at Williams AFB in the east valley, Base closed September 1993. I had rode my mountain bike to work the day before so I had to ride it back home to Apache Junction. Sure glad I got home before the heat hit

Yep...I moved here in April 1990. I was driving a black truck with no air, and was out signing up at temp agencies. Then that evening I had a meeting and while driving with "55 A/C", I felt like my face was getting sandblasted. I had no idea how hot it was until (probably) the next day. Hoooooeeee! That was one for the books.

Working at Rio Salado Community College extension, Williams AFB Education Office. I had to drive to the East area office in Mesa (MCC Red Mountain Campus now) in the middle of the day. I watched the heat gauge on my old Toyota getting past the normal place and thought I might be overheating. When I got to the area office they told me we'd set a new heat record for that day.
