I know. It's a big hodge-podge of discontinuous systems. Some of the providers are pretty good, but many of them are mom-and-pop operators who once serviced a few neighboring "ranches" but lack capitalization and expertise to properly service a burgeoning population. Private water companies often mean lesser water quality, low pressure, outages, and astronomical rates. I don't know if these comments apply to the company in this incident. People don't think much about water companies when moving to a city. They probably just figure it's a city utility. But in Phoenix area , it is something that you might want to at least consider.

Not just that - for the cities to acquire these companies, it would fall under eminent domain - these companies would have to be paid for all of their infrastructure and lost revenues for 20 years in the future.

Correct. But my point is that water quality problems are a longstanding issue in this area. Basic water filtration systems are relatively inexpensive and offer built in protection for problems such as the recent TCE issue.

Yeah and I made coffee with tap water at work the other morning. I'm not sure North of Acoma and Scottsdale road are effected though. If so what can I do.
