Can they afford Anthem? That's a lot closer to Cave Creek and from everything I've seen, quite safe and livable.

OP may be in the millenial age bracket (birth years ranging from early 1980s to early 2000s), which believes that anybody who isn't in their age range is elderly!

IF THEY ARE TOO OLD TO DO ANYTHING BUT SIT AT HOME it would be a waste to pay for amenities that they would not be able to take part in. There is no yearly fee in live in El Mirage. If you are just staying home it doesn't matter who lives around you. When would you see them?

If they are that old do they really want to live an hour away from their kids who are in Cave Creek? There's a lot better options just west of Cave Creek. Sounds like her father still has the BIG HOUSE syndrome.

I thought I heard that Sun City "yearly fee" is cheap compared to many. I don't have any amenities where I live and am charged $67/month to live here. For my money I get trashy neighbors, renters, lots of kids that raise heck around the neighborhood, lots of barking dogs, etc.

My in-laws stay regularly in Pebble Creek with the older folks and don't have any of these problems. Living around mature people that take care of their homes and don't bother others is worth a lot to me and I'm sure most "elderly people" would feel the same way.
