We recently moved to Scottsdale and after renting for a while and deciding on the area we like we began looking for a home to buy.

We found a house we really like, right area, love the layout, price is right, but it does not have a pool. We spend several hours almost every day in the pool during the summer so this is a must.

The back yard is flat and has plenty of space for a pool, but the problem is the access is extremely limited. There are no walls or fences that can be removed and their is only side yard access on one side of the house. Due to the chimney it hits a choke point that is literally only maybe ~30 inches wide.

Is it even possible to build a pool with that type of access limitation? With a budget of $40K my guess is even if it is possible it could push up labor costs significantly and blow right through that budget.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Joe

There are small excavators that might fit -- like this one: 418 Compact Excavator - Bobcat Company

I'm sure experienced pool companies have dealt with this before and can find a way to build in almost any backyard.

Thanks exit2lef, I never knew such a small excavator existed. I guess it can't hurt to reach out to a pool builder then. I figured if it was basically impossible I would save my time and theirs. But if there is a reasonable possibility I certainly think it is worth looking into it a little further

I remember a pool builder showing me pics of how they went through the house (not recommending...but funny).
