So I'm looking for info about the area's surrounding lakes. Which are the best for swimming/floating (with a large flotation station, a raft type float)? We'd love to have a little sand so the kids can play (no this won't take the place of an actual beach trip, just looking for something different). My kids are 2, 5 and 7 so family friendly please! I understand Lake Pleasant is kind of a party place on the weekends. I'm assuming you can probably 'float' anywhere on these lakes since it's technically not a boat but if some areas are better than others I'd love suggestions! Thanks!

Butcher Jones is nice but weedy. I personally like the swim areas on Canyon Lake.

Havasu is an overnight/weekend, but it has some pretty nice beachy spots. WITH sand.

Canyon lake would be my choice nice sand beach and boats usually not going so fast it's a smaller lake they have sections for swimming that are roped off. I would stay away from pleasant lake not much beach and lot of boats going fast. Just had a fatality at Pleasant someone tried to swim out to an island didn't make it. The wake gets bad in the afternoon with all the boats on the lake not easy to swim in that.
