My husband has been transferred to PHX and his new office is located in Scottsdale. We found a few properties for sale in Briarwood North subdivision that seem as if they might work for us. Currently we live in FL and searching via the internet for properties. Please let me know if we should steer clear of this area. It's basically at Shea and N 75th Place. Thanks.

Perfect location. Beautiful, high-end, safe. You're aware of the land lease, right?

Wouldn't be a bad location to live. Shea is a very busy road and tends to be congested almost all the time. Really Scottsdale and the urban valley as a whole is pretty congested though. Beyond that fact I can't consider any negatives to living in the area. Your convenient to everything Scottsdale has to offer.

Land-lease? I am not familiar with such. Is it a real estate deal to avoid? (Thanks in advance.)

That's it! I wonder if that's the neighborhood the OP is asking about. It doesn't appear to be off Shea. OP, Briarwood North isn't a reference that most will know about. Check the link that elcajones provided though.

Gotta love a little forum teamwork. I didn't know what your were talking about so, I googled for my own reference than had to share.

Their little subdivision appears to be a different place than actual Briarwood, which is located at 73rd pl and Mcdonald.

Google maps is labeling 75th Pl. / Shea neighborhood as Briarwood north. It does appear to be a totally different neighborhood though. I would still look into it after reading that article and seeing anything else in town bearing the Briarwood name.

Just read the article which is most informative. Then revisited the Zillow.com page for the property and it is a lease hold one. I found the name of the subdivision by driving around on Google maps. As far as the lease hold issue is concerned, I would not necessary dismiss a property bec of that status, but it would be important to know exactly how much the lease hold fee is so there are no surprises and we could better decide if such a property is something we would invest in with eyes wide open. The house is at E Becker and 75th Pl. Sure am happy to have all of you nice people taking your time to read my post and offer your wisdom. It's wonderful!
