Years ago parts of Santa Cruz County (I think) settled 2 or 3 ft. Somebody told me you can see it driving I10 near Picacho Peak. It's not the end of the world. The ground is just settling. I don't think it's going to keep sinking until the valley becomes another Grand Canyon.

As to pumping water into the ground? How much water? Even if we have enough I don't think that's going to help stabilize the ground that's settling. Might have the reverse effect.

Saw this on the news, anyone else hear about this, there were talking about the expense involved with sinking sewer and water lines in the near future
