It seems to me that Maricopa County Republicans seem to be about evenly divided between Fundamentalists and Libertarians. To me, those belief systems seem to have little in common, but for some reason they both gather under the tent of the GOP. I'll never understand that.

I think legalizing it is better. You regulate it. You can tax it. You can protect more women from abuse at the hands of pimps and madams not to mention clients. Whether you think it is morally permissible is immaterial. People are going to engage in it regardless of your opinion of it. So you might as well make it safer and generate some tax revenue out of it. Prostitution is more or less legal as it is; escort services blatantly advertise their services and nothing happens to them.

Most of the posts on the subject fall into two categories: those who want a crackdown and those who want it legalized - right now.

EDIT

I agree. Sorry I misread your response. What I've seen is more libertarians have joined the Democratic party as the GOP continues to pander to the Tea Party. The GOP in Maricopa County has changed considerably in the last 15 years. John McCain used to be a hero here; you couldn't say one bad thing about that guy 15 years ago. And now he is a pariah among the GOP here. It shows how far the GOP has regressed here.

Make it legal and most of that will go away.

And hookers can report their income without fear of reprisal from the IRS, provided they pay the taxes due.

It's two consenting adults. It should be legal.

The sign just adds to the overall bad impression too many people have of AZ.

It is costing me the remainder of my life. I pay every other week for the chance to sleep with her, oh and on top of that I have learned that she is always right and I don't know much about anything.

Early in the year we were in Las Vegas on the strip and this lady hands me a card that says I can have a girl in my room in 20 minutes. I looked at this woman and said I allready have two girls with me on this trip and all they want to do is spend all my money, have me feed them, take them out, talk to them, and make sure they are safe. Why in the world would I need another girl?
You sound like me^^. Did you hear that they JUST came out with the "Married Mans Playboy"???

Yea. It has the same centerfold month after month after month after month after month after month ... I can hardly can wait for next months pictures!

The billboard establishes for visitors that prostitution is common there and that they are having no luck controlling it. It might as well advertise it. The irony is they also completely misrepresent the situation. The Johns are hardly ever punished and it is usually a slap on the wrist.

People are buying and selling sex all throughout this country, criminalizing it only pushes it further under ground. It's healthy for single men and should be accepted and regulated.

I haven't seen that yet. I still see Libertarians with the GOP because they at least agree on a few things. They agree with the DEMs on nothing.

I keep saying throw out the religious right and tea party and replace them with millennials but they don't listen to me.
