Definitely a late start to the monsoons this year. We basically got nothing in July and most of August but the last 3 nights, and 4 out of the last 6 days here in Tempe by AZ Mills Mall we got hammered with some intense monsoons. One looked to be a microburst I thought the trees in my front yard were going to snap. I think this will probably be the end of the monsoon season, and within the next couple weeks the dew point will drop and they cool fall mornings will start. Fall is my favorite time of the year here I love it.

We lost a tree here in mid-town. Pool overflowed. Most of our neighborhood is still without power. That includes the traffic signals on 7th Ave. This was only two days off from the 9th anniversary of the 2008 storm that nearly flattened our house and took out many of the trees in Encanto Park.

Hardly a drop in weeks. It has been a sad monsoon all in all. I'll be glad when it is over. The end of monsoon can't come soon enough for me.

Neighbors lost trees all over. Lost power for hours, and then came on and off. Second storm last night, only lost power once. Lots of roof shingles all over the neighborhood, don't know who they belong to anymore. Didn't expect it to go out with such a bang. Think we're gonna get more of this?

I got a little bit of rain and a helluva lightning show but nothing major in my north-central Phoenix area. My pool still even looked great this morning. Sounds like I was only about 3-4 miles from some of the worst of it last night.

I woke up to total carnage in my neighborhood this morning. Downed trees, powerlines... there was a car on the street that was taco'd by a tree, blew out all the windows and caved in the roof, a total write off. There were sections of the road that were all mud, and the park nearby was under water. Gonna suck for the mosquitos over here! grrrrr
