I am house hunting near the 101 and 17 and one of the homes which I love is in Stetson Valley. I noticed that I have zero reception in this area. I restarted my phone, a new Note 5, and there was still no signal. I went to a Verizon store and they suggested that I buy a signal booster/extender. Has anyone else here had success with one of these devices? I would hate to get into the house with the device, only to find it makes no difference in signal strength. I love the house, but am contemplating moving on to somewhere else (silly, but my wife and I need cell coverage for work/school). Thanks!

The Federal government is still reviewing many of the phone booster products. There is currently a very limited selection on the market.

I had a older model that worked fairly well, but now there are new frequencies for cell phones that were not covered by the old boosters. Remember you have to have SOME signal to boost. Multiplying a ZERO signal still leaves you with ZERO.

You have to get a booster and try it in the house. The other thing is to switch (program) your phone so it reads signal strength instead of bars. You can search for how to do that on your phone. That will tell you how strong your signal, if any, is at the proposed house.

It is fairly easy to boost voice. Data is much more difficult. Text messages are the easiest to send and receive.

With my old booster I went from NO SERVICE to a clear signal for voice just by moving ten feet. Due to the Federal government dragging their feet with boosters I have not bought a new booster yet.

The people that know the most about phone boosters are RV'ers. Lots of high tech RV'ers out there!!! Due a search on phone boosters and RV forums. You will find plenty of info there.

BTW, since your house and cell towers are stationary there are YAGI antenna's that are really good if you have line of sight. I don't have line of sight at my house....so the booster worked on voice. It did nothing on data.

Hope this helps.
