Hello everyone,
I guess I am asking for everyones help in the forum. I know that I cannot advertise in here but I need peoples opinion on something. My family and I have a business and we want to move it to Phoenix. I am not sure how it will go over there or if anyone is interested. I am asking if anyone would like to see what it is to let me know and I can email you some info on it. Of course I am not trying to sell you anything or scam anyone in any way, I am just trying to get opinions.

Thanks

Well, I don't think there's anything wrong with saying what type of business it is on the forum...

Ok,
It is a concrete surfacing and repair business. It IS NOT concrete stamping and can be put down on new or existing concrete in business or residential. It can also be put interiors exterior, pool decks, counter top (make them look like grantie) ect. Although it was designed to be applied to concrete it will stick to anything, (such as drywall, plastic, formica, ect)

You actually have mentioned this a couple of times and asked peoples opinions. I don't think getting our opinion is very sound or solid for a business venture. Unless we were in a similar business we wouldn't know. I would research other businesses here that do what you do and see if there's a need. I think we have everything that you can imagine, especially any kind of home improvement. But, that's not to say that you wouldn't be needed. We are such a huge place that you may be able to find an area and do very well.

MA Wilson,
You definitely should do some market research--see how many ads you can find--weekly coupon mailers, craigslist, newspaper, etc.--and you'll get an idea of the prices and supply versus demand. You can call a few competitors and just ask how busy they are. My gut feeling is that such a business would be slow right now because of the general construction slowdown.

On the other hand, my friend in the kitchen and bathroom remodeling business says he's got plenty of work at least among the very affluent (spending upwards of $100K to remodel a kitchen for example).

I wouldn't do it. Right now Phoenix is struggling and with the housing mess, things are likely to get much worse. Besides, there are already a TON of your type of business here. I look into places that have held strong during the housing mess, Phoenix has just hit the tip of the iceburgh and things (financially) are just going from bad to worse. Sorry, I just hate to see people move for nothing.
