It means "sh-t hits the fan". Among paranoid prepper types, SHTF is shorthand for the supposed sudden end of life as we know it in the US brought on because American society is under attack from the black, brown, yellow, gay, female, "non approved" Christians, liberal hordes who infest urban and suburban areas. SHTF will be precipitated by economic "collapse" or a permanent destruction of the electrical grid by terrorism or a strong solar storm or some equally unlikely event that will instantly make all law and order and military presence disappear, leaving preppers at the mercy of the hordes from the cities, which is why preppers need to build up huge arsenals in their preferred "bug out" locations like the Idaho mountains ... and apparently the Phoenix suburbs.

Except that whoever did so would trip the language filter. This thread just spells trouble, period.

Please do not come to North Scottsdale!!! You would not like it here at all. I second the vote for Canada. Or try New Mexico. It is almost like being in Arizona.

Well Grasshopper, my best advice is to pick an area where the least amount of fans exist. Think about it... There are a lot of fans in all parts of the PhX area.

The acronym refers to those times when fecal matter impinges on the rotary impeller blades of doom.

I would respond to the OP but she/he appears to be a seagull poster. "Flew by dropped something on us and flew off." Just wipe it off and go on.
