I'm so glad I bought during the worst of the recession. I am stuck like glue to my purchase because it looks like it's going to get crazy again.
I can't believe how high rents are going for crappy places. Reminds me so much of SD. It's definitely a landlords paradise. I feel for anyone having to rent at the moment.

MNBnR - you are correct. The construction labor force has moved next door. I'm glad that the guys in construction are finally getting a decent salary though. I'll take the compromise. I am hoping the market will stabilize soon and slow down a bit. We need something a bit more steady in the future or we are headed for trouble.

They just opened up their 3rd subdivision down here.

Meritage never stopped building the Mission Royale senior community and just opened up new models for that community. They expect it to close out in the next 3-5 years. LOTS of higher end mobile homes being built in the nicer parks these days also for the retired side.
Drive until you qualify...lol.. thats a good one. And yes it seems thats going to start to happen. Not for me been there done that. Not worth it. But in my right mind I wouldnt buy now. Especially if its not in the area Id like to live in. I just renewed my lease and staying put. Atleast like that I live where ever I want with no regrets. Thats the beauty of renting. Absolutely no regrets.

Poppysead your one of the fortunate ones that took advantage of that recession. Wish I could of have. But yes rents are crazy honestly but Id rather take my chances on that than to buy. No way I dont wanna regret it down the line in 3 years if something happens. Its about making smart decisions in this economy. Many people just forget the past all too well.
