Hi Phoenixians

I'm traveling to Phoenix for a week to play some desert courses in April. I tried booking in at Desert Mountain (Cochise) but they basically told me that I am not welcome to play? I was literally willing to fork over $500 for one round but apparently there are things in this world that money can't buy! What's up with that?

I am planning on playing We-Ko-Pa (Saguaro), Quintero, Troon North (both courses) and I'm also driving down to Tuscon to play 27 holes at Dove Mountain. Am I on the right track for playing the best courses? TPC Scottsdale was tempting because of the Waste Management that was just on but maybe there are some other jewels out there I am unaware of. In actual fact there seems to be WAY too many good courses in this area. Definitely gonna retire here in 40 years time.

Also if there are any good night spots for a drink or other good touristy things to do please let me know.

Any advice is much appreciated,
The_Cheez

Grayhawk always gets good ratings. Two beautiful courses, great clubhouse, nice restaurant.

Desert Mountain is private. You need to live there and purchase an Equity Membership...which is an undisclosed amount (if you have to ask you can't afford it). Their Lifestyle Membership which does NOT give you golf privileges is $10k if that gives you an idea.

Sounds like you have some good courses lined up. The Boulders is nice, as is Wildfire...there are a ton of courses here.
