I love see all the bats out at dusk this time of year. I know there are popular spots near 40th ST and Camelback where there are huge flocks of bats. At dusk along the Western Canal in Tempe we walk our dog and there are bats that live under the bridge at Hardy. It's fun watching them fly out from under the bridge and they swarm around you and dive in the canal after the mosquitoes.

As you said, there is a large bat preserve in a flood control tunnel near 40th Street and Camelback that is a minor tourist attraction. The same group also has a lesser-known outlet near the Biltmore.

Bats are cool.

As cool as North American bats are, I wish we had the Flying Fox variety of bats here.
