I'm looking at homes in Fountain Hills. I know that the water and electricity are with SRP.

Is there a way I can find out what the average utility cost is for a particular address? I went to the website but I didn't see anything there.

Thanks!

Call the utility company and ask.

Wow....that was easy, thank you.

I never think to call. Once I got past "Rosie" and to a real person, I was able to get my info.

My home reading is probably 1/2 or a 1/4 of my neighbors - we like it on 82-84 and open our windows when possible while my neighbors just run their ac on 70something coninuously... so it depends on useage!!! Don't discount a house based on $$ - double check and have your realtor ask the sellers realtor for an accurate bill and explanation. BTW many have their budget billing and pay the same monthly throughout the year.

SRP gave me the lowest bill (actual reading not budget) and highest. Something was definitely "off" because the lowest was $140 and the highest was $620 and that was the April bill. The women told me, one would expect to see a high bill like that in July or August not April. So yes, I got the info I requested but like "smoochaz" commented, I can't go by just that info.

I did the same thing yesterday on a 3/2 1900 sq ft and SRP gave me a $450 as a highest bill in unknown time period and a $70 as lowest. The unknowns are if it was vacant or if the bill on the highest is a carry over from previous month. They would not give annual costs.

Forgot to mention we are a 2 story - so 2 units running and we still have lower bills than our neighbors who are 1 story!! I know because we get a comparison report from APS - positioning of the house, insulation, roof, windows, and window coverings are all critical components of being efficient in utilities...
