I have never had a problem. I wear Chargers and Padres gear when at the beach and get along just fine with the locals. The fact that I go in the offseason when the air and water is 60 and I go in with no wet suit creates conversations.Folks at the shops remember me when I return in the summer. There are plenty of local beaches not overrun with Zonies north of OB MB and PB heading up towards Oceanside. I won't give away any secrets because I do not want Zonies taking my parking spots and then complaining how chilly the water is.

You can't surf to refreshingly cool salt water in Zona. Surfs up Ace !!

Here is one secret....Imperial Beach has very clean water...the cleanest in all of So Cal and is VERY welcoming of Zonies as they do not tend to get the business the more popular beaches like Coronado and points northward get. Plenty of reasonably priced hotels in Chula Vista. Highly recommend this spot to Zonies.

I can't do Imperial Beach, the Tijuana River (raw sewage from Mexico) runs right through it. Coronado is about as far south as I'll go.

This is true but was hoping to divert the flood of Zonies to a new spot since few actually go in the water.

asufan,
Agree, when construction is Hot & Heavy on the 91, 71, etc. Once took me almost 9 hrs (OC to PV). Construction & UC Riverside & Berdu. Hubby said I should have turned around, next time I did. But 4-5 hours? Granted you start in Chandler (gives you 30-40 min head start, lol), don't tell me you're a sneaky weasel who drives in the HOV Lane? (just kidding, not worth it to me...)

Have acreage in Valle and Holbrook for Rv and am now a member of the Deanza Springs nudist Rv park in Jacumba. What is wrong with loving both states ? Politics has a minute impact on this nature boy who loves both states.
