What do you all make of this tragic story?!!! Everyone is pointing the finger at the owners but you know if you see a puppy in distress do you just call the cops and shake your head or do you go to the owner of the building (the property manager) and demand they enter in and save the puppy??? if this was a baby stranded on the balcony wouldn't the urgency be greater to save it?? This poor innocent puppy needed just one persons help!!!

Knowing the way things seem to go, the dog's owners either won't get charged, or will just get a slap on the wrist.

I have a pug and a french bulldog and this story hit's close to home for me, two weeks ago, I was walking my dogs and one of our neighbors (apt complex) has a pug as well, and they left it on the patio, and it broke my heart. First, pugs are not outdoor dogs, and second, they don't do well in extended temps over 78

So heartbreaking.

My dogs love the heat (Chihuahuas) but I limited their outside time this weekend, testing the patio for how hot it was even in the shade before letting them go and not letting them linger beyond the time it took them to potty. My boy dog wanted to sunbathe! Sorry, buddy, not when it is 115. I can't let them.

This makes me sick to my stomach.
We have a 5 month great dane puppy, we just went out and bought three air conditioners to make sure our house is comfortable enough for her this summer during our 90's and high humidity....we treat our dog like we would a child.

This is such a sad story!! Do you suppose it could have been an accident? I know that sounds crazy but as a harried and hurried mom of 3 I could imagine how something could possibly happen. Not that I would ever let it because I am an over protective mama of my babies (human and animal)! But I know not everyone is like that.

ElleTea I have chi's too...the best dogs!

This sad, disturbing story prompted me to donate to the AZ Humane Society tonight.

Putting dogs out on a balcony is common poor areas of town friend of mine works at a rescue it's common with people from 3rd world country's such as Mexico to not allow dogs in the home their kids want a dog so they get a puppy from someone they know and it's forced to live on the balcony. Kids lose interest in the dog and forget to put water out there for them. I know it sounds like a stereotype it's actually common.
