He will have two locations he is in charge of...one located around I-17 & Grand Avenue and the other located around I-10 between 51st and 59th. He will also be flying out to other locations as well so being close to the airport would help.

We are a family with three children ages 8 years, 6 years and 2 years. We are coming from a GREAT family-friendly neighborhood in the Dallas area. Can you direct me to a nice area where the commute wouldn't be too bad for my husband.

We would like to rent a house for the first year before purchasing one. I really like the TW Lewis homes. Anyone have any thoughts on the Portales neighborhood in Goodyear? If not, please let us know where you think we should live given where his offices are located.

Thanks!

I know that area pretty well - not sure what schools they'd be aligned to though, but if you knew the names I could potentially give some info

this particular development is kind of on an island right now - there is going to be a good amount of commerical development to the east of there (all along McDowell - where a mall will be opening at bullard/mcdowell in 2010) right now there are power centers going up at Estrella / McDowell and Estrella is getting developed pretty much all the south past Yuma Rd.

My wife has a coworker who lives in that area and we've been over for drinks - seems nice enough - there are little neighborhood parks

if you go west past the 303 there is a prison just north of McDowell and the Swapmeet just south of McDowell - so I wouldn't expect there to be that much development toward the west of that community

I'd imagine more residential would be coming toward the north

Commuting wouldn't be too terrible to - would actually be pretty easy to go only to 51st Ave

Not sure your price range - but have you looked into any of existing homes or new builds in Palm Valley in Goodyear - i know the schools aligned to these communities are pretty good - it's a little more north, but a little more east from where this development is

also, you could go south of the I-10 .... there are some nice developments going in around Estrella & Yuma - would probably take a step back in the ESD, but the high school would be comparable - less expensive than the other areas mentioned - also it would be in the heart of what will become downtown goodyear (ballpark village around spring training should be open this time next year)
