Rvtink, you may want to consider Goodyear as a rental because the drive to Tolleson is only around 10 miles depending on the exact locations, and Goodyear is a nice town.

For $1000 you can get a 1700 sf single family rental and for $1400 a 2400 sf rental. There are plenty of rentals there.

You will have to locate one and get a credit app in pretty fast in order to get in by March 1. You may be able to get a 6 month lease, which is what I recommend. However, many will require a 12 month. 6 month is best for you if you plan to buy soon.

I would definitely look at goodyear & laveen - renters market is pretty flexible - tons of auto dealerships at the 101 & 10 .... also a ford dealership near goodyear

Well, after 12 years of failing in one way or another to get my move to Phoenix done. Im finally coming. I really love the heat and sunshine (except in August). I live in Colorado...here is the irony: Desert Arizona is actually greener than the front range of Colorado. Its brown here 6-7 months a year. I hate it. No palm trees to give it some color. No Cacti, or beautiful desert Flora. I always have to look west to see mountains. I would rather have desert landscape than dead lawn grass for most of the year. I just got back to the Phoenix Zoo; wow what a nice place that was. 120 degrees sounds aweful, (I have lived in areas that get to 110) but I have to tell you that 5 to -15 degrees hurts too. It stings the ears and face bad. We have this snow here even in May.

Phoenix is the easiest city I have ever navigated. The drivers are nicer than my experiences in Colorado and Texas.

The people are more friendly than those of Boulder Colorado. Not sure why they are so snooty in Boulder.

Better food, completely better food EVERYWHERE

Asthma slighly more active, but meds control it.

Best hikes: I used to live in Pac NW. A hike there was usually in some moist wet forest in dark shade. You see one evergreen tree, you have seen them all.

Great boating lakes: Man is it hard to find a place to boat in Colorado. Everybody just wants to snow ski

no ocean: (sad) but much closer (happy)

if one does crave the Forest, I think they will be pretty happy with the rest of Arizona pine forested mountains. I bet not alot of people think of that when they think of AZ.

I love your City. Don't worry though, the family of the home we are buying is moving out of state, so I am not adding to your population.

See you all on the 8th of March (no parade please, I might get embarrassed)

i'd still go goodyear over glendale - the nicer parts of goodyear are toward the north and would increase your commute

a fair amount to do in goodyear - what are you looking for?
