Thinking of buying a 1900 sf home in Sun City West. Would like a rough average of electric cost. Was told water would be 40 to 90 a month and sewer 32. Anyone willing to share their utility info? Would be very grateful...

Water & sewer combined should be $46.00, electricity for a 1900 sq ft home varies on your usage and efficiently of your air conditioning system. Our 2000 sq ft is $144.00 monthly on the APS year around savings plan.

Default Thanks

Thanks, we are from Oregon (Bend area) and are worried about the air conditioning cost. Sounds like our budget of $300 should cover most months.

I average about 55 a month for water and sewer through Epcor and about 120 a month for electric through APS for my 1800 sq ft house. But my a/c is only about 4 years old and the house is well insulated. Also, I am very cold averse, so I keep the thermostat at 82 during the summer days. (80 at night). Highest electric bill this summer was 256 and lowest was 62 in April.
Garbage is about 200 a year through Parks & Sons.

Both Epcor and APS are in the process of getting rate increases. Sounds like it could be substantial (20-40 a month each??). Plan accordingly!

Also, I live alone, so factor that in too.

Sun City West wastewater rates could possibly go up by $10 max. You're currently paying $32.46 and depending upon what the ACC decides it might go up to $42 or could be $41.02, not $20-$40 increase. You can find the specifics explained in the link below.

That is one of the reasons I put a ? after the 20-40, because I wasn't sure. One reason I wasn't sure, was because they had some very confusing cost structures in the tables that were in the information they mailed out. When I called to get some clarification, the customer service rep was baffled too and could not find anyone who could explain it. He finally told me he would have to have someone call me back... They never did. This experience was reflected in my comments to the ACC - for all the good that will do!

By the way, your link redirects to the Epcor homepage after asking where I am located. But as I mentioned, I read through the mailer.... just couldn't remember the exact numbers. Thanks for the additional information.
