Hello,
I am moving from southern California and I need to find a ground cover that will work with the Phoenix heat and will be fine for my dogs to walk around and poop on. I have 2 German Shepherds and they need room to run and play.

While I was house hunting there all I saw were rock yards. This will not work for us. Also, we hope NOT to be there in the summer, so it should be low maintenance.

Thank you!

You really didn't give enough info.
Are you looking to buy or rent? (you'll be gone during the summertime?)

Where in "Phoenix" are you looking? Many of the established homes have grass backyards.
Do you walk your dogs? I live in a neighborhood with greenbelts and parks. There are also many off-leash dog parks.

You'll want grass but grass is anything but low maintenance here.

Grass. My dogs love the grassy yard. It's easy to maintain. The sprinklers come on automatically and I pay $90 a month to keep it looking good. They even pick up the turds. Couldn't be easier.

Just tell your realtor, for better or worse there are e acres and acres of grass here, it's not too hard to find.

Thank you! We are looking at Sun City West. Although we saw a lot of dogs being walked, not one house had grass. If we were to put grass in, what would the cost be (approximately) for 15' x 20' .
I really appreciate this!
