A friend is coming to PHX and needs to stay close to the Salt Mine River. She was going to stay at La Quinta on Superstition Springs Blvd. (and Power). She's looking for something clean and reasonable (the reviews seem good). Is that a safe area?

Being in the Verde Valley myself I don't know it.

Thanks for your help!

La Quinta usually has high standards for cleanliness, reasonable prices and good service. We stay at them often when traveling, no complaints here.

Anyway, the hotels around that mall area, including that one, are fine.

Maybe it's Salt River Mine, what do I know, I'm in Verde Valley - she's going to where the wild horses are .

Salt River. There's no mine involved. Hope she enjoys seeing the horses.

Apparently there is a Salt Mine Road up in the Camp Verde area, which may be part of the confusion?

After all the protests, the Bureau of Land Management told the horses, okay, okay, we'll let you stay around, but since you're still an invasive species here, we're gonna put you to work in the salt mine to make you earn your keep.

They are where they have always been, in the areas along the Salt River northeast of Mesa. Sometimes some can be seen from the highway (the Beeline)
