Doug, taxes here one of the main reasons im leaving. My taxes on a modest home in central NJ are over $10,000 per year! Im sure my taxes will be about $2000 per year for a nicer home in AZ.
@Strato58 - You'll save a lot money with property tax in AZ. How comparable your salary will be from NJ to AZ? My family and I are also thinking to relocate to AZ but the salary cuts really concern us a lot.

Noel, that's the $64,000 question since im appraiser and in my own business. I dont know what ill be making there.. But then again I have no guarantees here either. If homes are selling or people are refinancing I have work. If not I struggle. I was slow from 2008 till about 2 years ago. This year was like gangbusters. I have no guarantees no matter where I live.

YES please come join our appraisal teams! I'd love to work with you! I live in Goodyear in West Valley and serve mostly Goodyear, Buckeye, Avondale, Litchfield Park, and Surprise. All great areas for families! Depending on how congested you want it to be will determine where you should land. Also if you'd like assistance buying a home there are different financing options available in some of the cities I listed above that are AMAZING!! Glendale and Peoria are also nice areas I've worked in as well. Lots of good options! On the East side you have Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek and Tempe that would work Depends on what you need out of where you live! The taxes are terrible either We transplanted here from Memphis, TN a few years ago and LOVE it! Congrats!!
