As i mentioned in my last post i haven't been to phoenix in a couple years and i'm sure lots has changed in terms of the dining scene. We are really into Steakhouses, Italian and Mediterranean. I'm sure theres been new places that have popped up and some of these may not even be around anymore but our go to's use to be:

Fogo de Chao, Benihana, Pizzeria Bianco, Durant's, My Big Fat Greek and Grimaldi's.

Can anyone recommend something along the lines of the above?

Thanks in advance.

Two of my favorite newer eating places are The Twisted Grove and Grassroots both located in Scottsdale at Hayden & Via De Ventura. Both have a variety menu and excellent happy hours if you like HH.

If you like steakhouses one of my favorites is the Cholla Steakhouse in Casino Arizona. I know the thought of a casino restaurant does not sound appetizing, but once inside the door you will not know you are in a casino. It is first class.

If you want casual dining, the Tavern Grille at 90th & Via Linda is great. It just a sports bar with OTB, but food is excellent and there is a different special every day. You could eat there 7 days week and not get tired of it.

Cibo on Fillmore and 5th Ave has great Italian and the pizza rivals Bianco. Similar is Pomo on Fillmore and 1st Street, so downtown really is a great place to eat. The Welcome Diner on Roosevelt and 10 St is a great charming place for when it's too beautiful out to go inside; people watching is fun and the Southern style comfort food is to die for. Ocotillo on 3rd St and Earll was just voted best new restaurant in Phoenix and is certainly worth checking out.

Fogo de Chao, Benihana, Pizzeria Bianco, Durant's, My Big Fat Greek and Grimaldi's.

Instead of My Big Fat Greek, you should try Phonecia in Tempe or Gilbert.
instead of Benihana, try Sakana
Pizza, the options are almost limitless now, a few chains from Chicago have moved in but I still prefer Spinatos (an AZ original)

Not sure if you like Chinese food but a few changes going on there:
Tang Dynasty opens in south Scottsdale
Miu’s Cuisine returns as Miu’s Bistro in Mesa
Chandler's Shaanxi Garden to launch larger Mesa restaurant, bring chefs from China

Other go to favorites of mine
Italian-
Avanti
Tutti Santi (great owners)
Vincitorio's (great owners)

Asian Influence-
Sumo Maya
Roka Akor
Moira

Mexican-
Barrio
Ritos
Taco Guild

Breweries-
Four Peaks (main-stay favorite)
Mother Bunch
Arizona Wilderness
Helton

Other favorites-
Beckett's Table
Chelsea's Kitchen

As others have mentioned, the food scene has been evolving a lot lately. There's way too much to list here but if you stay somewhat central your options are endless.

The My Big Fat Greek chain has contracted in recent years. Last time I checked, only the Mill Avenue location remained open. As others have said, there are better choices for Greek / Mediterranean anyway. Right down the street from MBFG on Mill is Med Fresh, a Turkish restaurant that I like a lot more.

For other recommendations, can you can be more specific about what part of town you'll be staying in?

Check out Cornish Pasty on Goldwater/main st in Old town Scottsdale. Really good (filling) food and a great patio (dog friendly)

When me and my wife finally made it to Pizzeria Bianco, we both agreed Spinatos was better
Better pizza with a lot less hype.

My absolute favorite !
Most people don't have a clue about this place.
A 5 Diamond restaurant in the Valley. Critically acclaimed nationally as well as internationally.
That's a place you only take the most important people in your life.
I have a reservation there every Friday at a certain time that I don't need to RSVP.
On Saturday night I eat at Orange Sky restaurant on the top floor at Talking Stick Resort and casino.
RSVP also is not required of me.
Those are two places I will dine at every week for the reminder of my life.

FYI.....you don't walk into Kai unless you're wearing a suit with a fresh crisp collar and preferably cufflinks.
I've never worn the same suit twice to that place of which I'm in friendly competition with friends.
