I've been living in Surprise since 1998 - back when mostly empty farm land and desert.

I haven't been crime victimized yet - we even left our garage open/front door unlocked (accidently) for long periods when we leave the house.

Thankfully, no theft of property to speak of; however, I would advise always locking up just in case!

There is a lot of traffic on Bell Road; however, just remember there are "back ways" into the community...

The jobs in Surprise are also increasing as the population increases...

The school district has improved and the recreational activities along with it.

I know people that live in Sundance and their house is beautiful and they love it. Not sure why anyone would think the area was going downhill.
We live in Buckeye in Tartesso and totally love it. Our concern with Surprise was that although they have much more shopping close by the proximity to freeways was not good. It's a long drive to the 101 (at least from the development we looked at). If you are going to stay close to home then Surprise would be great but if you want to get to other parts of the valley - not so much.
For us we are close to the 10 and shopping is not far off into town -and we quite like being a little removed from everything! (very quiet out here).

Forgive me for asking this: How do you pronounce Waddell? Wah-DELL, or Waddle? (Hey, who ever thought you would pronounce Prescott, like a biscuit. But with a P. And an R. And...Nevermind)

I don't know a thing about Waddell, how far a drive is it to Surprise Stadium?

It's pronounced Wah-DELL. It's actually not an incorporated town yet, it's actually primarily in Surprise, or unincorporated Maricopa County.

Depending on your location...6-9 miles from Waddell to the Stadium. A very quick trip...

Default Buckeye

Lived in Tartesso for a year. Love it. Only crime I have seen is some kid on the street that likes to destroy other peoples property. Cops were called and haven't seen any problem since. With Tartesso being some-what isolated there is a strong law enforcement presance at all times. Cops patrole Tartesso regulary. I drive to from work late at night and see them around almost nightly!
