If you worked from home, had a housing budget of $425,000, were married with an 11 year old daughter and could live anywhere in the valley, where would it be and why? Keep in mind im moving from NJ. Thanks everyone.

If we had it to do over again, knowing what we know now, we would have picked Ahwatukee. The area is located more centrally than Gilbert, and has easy access to shopping. I'm not sure how the new freeway construction will affect daily life over there while it's going on but that'll be temporary until it's constructed, and then you'll have an even easier time of getting around the valley. Parts of Tempe or parts of Chandler would also fit the bill for us.

A little more info would help. Your budget gives you lots of options, but we don't know about work locations, other amenities you want nearby, etc.

He said he works from home, but still, no idea what he wants.

Oh, Gilbert is your place. It fits you like a glove based on the extensive information you provided.

Hm. In that case I'm going to recommend Florida. South Carolina is a big destination these days too.

I came from Jersey and I love i here in Gilbert Arizona. Its close to restaurants that you'll be familiar with from jersey, your budget is well than more that enough for a house. The neighbors are friendly, lots kids around the age of your daughter. Its very quiet at night for the most part and its 30 minutes from the city or airport. It's also a lushish green and over all feel of Jersey for me here. Lots of parks, and great things to do within minutes or a few hours. But if you want to just be at home and work and then enjoy the pool sometimes, its definitely something youll like. Chandler is also another same offering. I made myself home and cozy here and I dont miss Jersey one bit!

No, no. It's NORTH Carolina. Full of NE transplants.

Hmmm, I would suggest Ahwatukee, Gilbert or possibly south Tempe.
