Hi everyone,

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for participating in this forum. There has been a lot of insightful comments and contributions.

My wife and I are looking to buy a home and we are currently looking at the following areas and communities:

DC Ranch, Windgate Ranch, Scottsdale, Desert ridge.

We recognize that Desert Ridge is typically lower than Scottsdale in terms of price and we'd get more house for our buck there, but we also think there are some amenities in Scottsdale we'd consider. Both appear to have good schools so that' somewhat gets negated.

We're struggling to really nail down the area as they all seem to offer a lot. For those of you live or don't live in these areas, why did you chose it and why didn't you chose it?

Thanks in advance

All the areas you selected are nice - I like Windgate out of your selections, also DC Ranch - Desert Ridge is fine - but it feels too congested for me (matter of personal taste). I also like Scottsdale Ranch and McCormick Ranch and paradise valley.

We chose DC Ranch because it is a beautiful master planned community. We looked at those other areas but having lived here for several years, we're convinced it was one of the best decisions we ever made.

BacktotheUSA- you are 100% right about DC Ranch. I was just in the area neighborhood and ASU hunting with my kids. I was almost in tears at how beautiful DC Ranch is, with the lovely landscaping and McDowell mountain view. The view coming out of Basha's is stunning. Do either of you commute to jobs? My husband may be retired when we get there, or he may look at post-gov work. Also, what do hear of the schools?

Considering that BacktotheUSA hasn't been on the board since over a year ago...you may not get a response.
