Somewhere in the distant past the Hard Rock Cafe meant something. I remember standing in a long line to get into the one in Paris shortly after it opened. Now they have them adjacent to shopping malls.

We went into the HRC on Washington a few weeks after it opened (there was a previous iteration on Camelback). A few minutes after we were seated the sound system started playing Village People's YMCA. The wait staff climbed onto the bar and tables and started doing the requisite dance. Fortunately we had not ordered yet. We got up and left.

Sorry, I haven't been to the Hard Rock in a while, and I didn't realize it became such an uncool place. I do remember just three years ago when there was a concert across the street, it was up to an hour's wait to be seated at the Hard Rock, so there was still an appeal at that time. The "YMCA" song & dance routine is definitely overdone and very unoriginal. I don't even consider that to be a rock song ... more of a campy disco song. I probably would have walked out too.

Wow. Didn't think I'd read a Buck-O-Nine callback on this page at any point, ever.

HRC once had a draw about it. That draw was more atmosphere and scene. You always knew you'd pay a little extra for consistently average bar food. Despite not really caring for the place, I've been to them in multiple counties and American cities. Just one of those places and being with a group.

I remember when I first moved out we went to a Suns game and wanted to go out for a minute afterwards. HRC was only one of like three places open that I could find and they wanted a cover to get in. Yeah, we went home.

So many good options have developed recently, the choices are broad.

For a good, quick meal before a game I wouldn't look to HRC, even if I did like the place

So, where did you end up going???

Helluva a series both yesterday and today were a blast to watch, over 40,000 at the game last night what an awesome atmosphere that's beginning to remind me of the early 2000s!
