Although the number of small family-owned gun stores has dropped significantly, probably due to the big sporting goods stores, there's still a number of them around in the valley. If you feel like driving to Prescott, J&G is pretty good.

I'm very happy for you that you escaped the bondage of CA for the freedom of AZ. I mean, to be able to carry guns in public here...that's just bound to have a direct improvement on your day to day life. And as you can see we greatly respect each other here, especially on I-10. We tip our hat at our fellow Phonecian and say, "good day sir". And it's all because an armed society is a polite society.

Great people and good inventory... I've never seen a brick and mortar carry Us Optics and Nightforce scopes - they have 'em (just an idea of the kinda of stuff they carry) - its a great shop... It's not all high end (like the scopes I mentioned)... And prices are good for a LGS.

The employees are very friendly, super helpful and knowledgeable. The first time I went there I was still living in CA (here for business) - even though I told, them where I was from, they were still very accommodating... Since I moved here, they've been my go to place for purchase and transfers.

OP, I think you'll appreciate this place.

Yep, I agree...

But I'm not new to carrying in public - I had CCW in CA...

On all accounts AZ is better many times over.
