Hi everyone,
My Desert Museum Palo Verde tree got blown down by last week's storm. I paid someone to removed it.

Now I am looking for a tree with 3 requirements. 1. Strong stem, not weak like palo verde tree. 2. with non-invasive roots, my neighbor's sissoo tree even spreads the roots into my yard. 3. fast or moderate growing. 4. leaves aren't too messy to cleaned. Thank you so much for your helps! John

Palo Verde trees are strong trees if watered correctly. It wouldn't matter what tree you plant if it's not watered deeply to establish the tap roots the tree will blow over easily in strong winds.

Ficus Ash trees might meet your requirements, they are not messy, they grow fast and they provide a large canopy.

We had a couple of Palo Verde trees in our neighborhood with large branches that snapped off from wind, plus they are very messy in the spring and early summer.

I think all ash trees meet all 3 of your requirements, just remember when planting to leave enough room for them. I know moon valley nurseries has pretty much all types of ash trees in several different stages of growth.

Fruitless Olive. . .A Swan Hill variety if you can find it.

They're strong, stay green all year, moderate grow rate, little litter, handle the wind well, love the heat, live for centuries, non-invasive, and my personal favorite.

You should also consider a southern live oak for the same reasons.

Yeah, I dunno about those Ficus Trees. My neighbor had one that almost killed by the frost last winter.

The Arizona Ash is fast growing and once the roots are established by deep watering they are pretty immune to wind and disease. And they get big so they have lots of shade.

The ash trees in my community are being removed one by one as they are all diseased. They're all established (13+ years) and over the last couple of years they've all become diseased. I personally would not plant one.

Red push pistache. Non-invasive, only drops leaves in January and is beautiful!
