Hi! We moved this summer and are excited to see cooler mornings are on the horizon! We are hoping to go on our first AZ hike tomorrow morning. Had a couple of questions, as hiking here will be quit different from our typical PA trails.

1) Other than the obvious (lots of water) what should we pack? I read that we should bring a comb in case of chollas.

2) Any suggestions for (dog friendly) favorite trails near northern Glendale? We were thinking about Thunderbird Conservation Park.

3) Dog will be on leash, but anything else we need to be aware of?

Thank you!

Best advice keep your dog on a leash and stay on the trail and if you have a male dog don't let them pee on a jumping cholla. Nothing worse than getting a pair of tweezers and taking thousands of spines out of your dogs nether regions.

Go out REALLY early, and be careful how far you go. It still warms up fast, and it's a lot harder on your dog than you. And yes, stay on the trail and take supplies to clean up after the dog.

A collapsable dog water dish like these. Hook included so it's hands free. https://www.amazon.com/Collapsible-S...NXXDE11QSCVT10

And thank you for keeping your dog on leash.
