Hello.

My family and I are moving to the Chandler or Gilbert area from San Diego. I am looking for information on youth sports leagues. Specifically boys programs ages 8 through high school. I’m interested in information on both travel competitive club teams and recreational teams for baseball, basketball, soccer, golf and waterpolo. My 3 sons are at all different levels and ages. I’m wondering if living out in the Seville development will require more than a 10 minute drive for recreational sports or more than 30-45 minutes for older competitive sports teams? Is there an area in Gilbert that offers a lot of youth sports with minimal driving? Thank you!!

For baseball East Valley baseball is the best league. It's a rare league that consists of a bunch of travel ball teams. Lots of former major leaguers and other professional athletes with kids on teams. You can check their website for teams holding tryouts. Games are played at Espee Park in North Chandler which is a working class part of town not very close to the area you're looking at, but lots of players live far away.

Staying in Chandler, Chandler National Little League won the state something like 3 years in a row, lots of kids play on club teams and CNLL simultaneously in the spring in an effort to make the all Star team (Cody Bellinger played here). I can't speak to the other sports but I've heard of powerhouse basketball which is an org out here. My boys are into baseball and flag football.
