If you're needing an ultrasound of any type done, check out the Ultrasound Medical Institute Group. They're located on Camelback just west of 44th St. Because they're also an ultrasound training school, the pricing on most testing is low.

I had an echo cardiogram done this morning for less than $100. The range at area doctor offices in the metro is $430-$12,000. My cardio group charges $437. Needless to say, I asked my cardio office to please fax the order to the UMIG and I had it done there. Very experienced, qualified tech. They have students sitting in, although you can decline that if you wish (I had no problem with it). They perform a wide range of ultrasound tests. The test is read by their consulting doctor, who is affiliated with Cedars Sinai Hospital, and the facility itself is fully licensed and accredited.

Just thought I'd pass it on, as many don't realize you can shop around in AZ for tests and are not required to use your doctor's facility or even one they recommend (you never know when they have an ownership interest in one).

Good post. Most people don't realize that you can shop around for anything medical. I found another radiologist years ago - not for financial reasons, but because the one my doctor recommended just treated the patients so indifferently.
