We are in the middle of a huge home search ( more like a neighborhood search) and need to be settled by July at the very latest so my daughter can start school. We plan on renting but want to rent in the actual neighborhood we will eventually buy in- unless we just fall in love with a home before then. One area we are very interested in is Gilbert/Mesa. I would love to get input on various HOA fees. Sorry, I can't narrow it down to specific neighborhoods- we are all over the place. If anyone is aware of specific HOA fees, I would love to get a list started. This may help us narrow it down. I surely do not want to pay $300/$400 a month.

Also, would love specific opinions about the elementary schools. I can look up school data online but they don't give the full picture. Any good/bad experiences with specific ones. For example, we loved one based on reviews and scores but when we drove past, there were two huge cell towers directly behind the school building pretty much on the playground. It just turned me off. Much too close for my comfort. Anyway, thanks in advance for any input!

HOA fees in Arizona are cheap compared to other places in this country.

Heck Val Vista Lakes in Gilbert has about a $90/mo HOA amd that gets you common area, clubhouse, pools, gym, tennis, boat rentals, etc. Best deal in town.

Most HOA’s in Phoenix are less than $100.

I used Redfin when searching homes. They show the HOA fee. Make sure to take note if the fee is monthly, quarterly, or yearly, ect. My HOA fee is $75. We live in Gilbert.

Gilbert schools are usually considered better than Mesa schools, although parts of Mesa are in the Gilbert school district just to keep that in mind.
