It's like having a house with a mouse in the Midwest. If they don't have a way in, you won't see any in your home no matter if you live next to an open field. Obviously I have some ways for them to get in (a total of 10 scorpions in the past 7 years). Gee, how could THAT happen in a 2005 build? 2005 was an era of perfect construction! lol

I've lived here for 8 years in an upstairs apartment and never have seen one that was wandering in my apartment or outside anywhere. However, I had a co-worker who lived in Chandler and would get them in her house all the time and caught one for me. It lived in a small aquarium in my house for a year or so before it suddenly passed away. Yes, I'm crazy but it was super cool to watch, feed and take care of.

Anyways, we are moving into a house this month and now I'm freaked out thinking about finding one in the house. Hopefully we don't!

Smile NO Scorps in my Scottsdale home !!

LOTS of them in yard, but none inside.
56th St/Tbird area. 40 yr old homes.
I love hunting them though.....mix a cocktail, grab my black light and surgical tweezers...good times !!
We use Insect Tec as our exterminator. Once a month only.

Been in AZ since 1992 and have never seen a scorpion inside the house, or outside for that matter.

Been reading about this issue since before the move. Wasn't sure if I should be concerned or if I'd be one of these "never seen one in a lifetime of living in AZ" people. So I moved in last week. Got a black light and have been going into the backyard each night - where I quickly kill at least a half dozen in as many minutes. Pretty gross. In the middle of Surprise, around the corner from a school. They're all over. Just fished a dead one out of the pool today.

None in the house yet.
