I work for Progressive Insurance and have a chance to locate to our Phoenix
office at 4425 E Cotton Center Bl.

Is this area considered central phoenix or south phoenix? I believe it is
in Phoenix proper, but close to Tempe?

Can anyone let me know what the surrounding neighborhood is like?

Is it feasible to rent an apartment close to there?

Price? Any advice is appreciated.

It's in South Phoenix and is about half a mile from the Phoenix / Tempe border. The immediate area is not great, but better areas are nearby -- mainly to the south near the Pointe resort and Ahwatukee and to the east in Tempe. It would also be a fairly easy commute from Arcadia, a Phoenix neighborhood to the north, and southern Scottsdale.

East or Southeast Phoenix. If you are going to rent an apartment then look to rent in Tempe.

Cotton Center is on the border between South Phoenix and Tempe. Not a bad place for a business to be since you've got freeway access to the I-10 and 143. But as far as a place to live goes, that area has a good deal of crime and auto theft and it's on the edge of the south phoenix neighborhoods I try to avoid at night.

You might be able to find some good apartments if you look in Ahwahtukee (South of Elliot Road), Tempe (East of Hardy Dr.), or Arcadia (North of Thomas Rd).

Yeah we used to live near 48th $ Southern street when I was a kid. Was a decent neighborhood back then. Now if you want to live there , you better not wear read or blue, and get used to hearing gun shots. Its pretty bad now. Yeah it is hard when you have never been somewhere. You should try a property management place, for a rental so you do not get steered in the wrong direction.

give me a break people...Ive been at that complex many times at all times of day...days, nights, and weekends...its just like any other complex with a mix of ages and people..seriously 2 people were stabbed in Scottsdale last weekend..no ones been stabbed there yet people wanna bag on that area and they would have no problem moving to scottsdale..sounds like some racism and just ignorance of an area people know nothing of...its no different than any other complex...

Musicsurf. I know crime is everywhere, but not speaking just of that complex (which may or may not be as you say), that stretch of Broadway has been high crime for years. For me, racism has NOTHING to do with it. I'm guessing I've lived here longer than you have. I'm not going to recommend that general area as a first time residence to someone who doesn't know the Phoenix area at all when there are better areas, not just in terms of crime but in terms of other amenities, within just a few miles.

I actually have been in Phoenix for 33 years now, so trust me I know my city as good as anyone, Im not saying there arent other areas that would work for someone moving to Phoenix, Im simply saying if you actually do some research and check your crime rates this area has improved dramatically over the last 4 years, and is not any worse than others, Im assuming your basing your opinion off of hear say and old rumors of the area maybe you havent been here as long as me, and not everyone can afford to live in those other areas so for the rates they offer I would still recommend it to anyone. Also I was replying to those who made racist remarks about gangs (better not wear blue or red, crips and bloods gangs referrence) and saying not worth risking ones life to live there, thats nonsense, racist and ignorance.

Musicsurf I drive through 48th and Broadway everyday and have grown up around the area. It has alway been and still is a gang infested area. There is the new industrial area across the street, but the townhouses are the last place you want to be once the sun goes down.
