I have Cox. They jacked up my price to $95-ish tax included for JUST internet when my 12 month special ended last month.

I'm having CenturyLink installed this Wednesday, faster speed for $65 month tax included. I'm in Mesa.

It's a no brainer for me.

Just spoke to someone at Cox who told me I have their 'panoramic' wifi service which means delivery to my devices can be either wired or wireless, which is all Greek to me.

If I dropped their cable service and their Homelife product my bill would drop to $66.00 a month, so my only option here in Mesa would be Centurylink.

Yeah, that is pretty much marketing gimmick.
Just means their WiFi built into their box is better than the most generic WiFi out there, with a way to extend the wireless coverage throughout big homes.

Depending on where your box is located and where the farthest space is that you want good WiFi coverage, you might or might not need this panoramic capability. I can tell you for sure in my upcoming house which is less than 3000 sq feet of single floor space, that I will NOT need the panoramic WiFi.

Ideally you would use 'wired' connections to the Internet, because depending on where you live and your home size, per above, the WiFi signal strength could be low. Think of old cordless phones, as you got farther from base station, the voice would start to break up, or cellphone in low signal areas. AND, in crowded multi-tenant complexes the WiFi signals start to step on each other and cause interference. Wired is like old school phones... don't matter as long as it's plugged in, the voice quality is perfect. Same more or less with Internet.

Hope that helped.

I was surprised I was able to get it in our 13 year old sub division, but it works great 100% uptime, so I love the service, but hate the company!

For those of you who've cut the cord, can you please tell me if you have any issues with buffering from YouTubeTV, Hulu or anybody else?

Thanks!

Ask your neighbors. Some area are better than others for both services. Cox has too many outages in my area and isn't stable for the exorbant prices they charge where as CenturyLink has been great. Both have trash customer service and CenturyLink will lie to your face to get/keep you as a customer. Record all your phone calls! After setup on CenturyLink though I have had a consistent price with no bill surprises.
