Hi! We are thinking about moving to Arizona from Southern California. Online we really like Queen Creek or Peoria, but havent yet visited. How do the cities compare? We have high school aged children, and want to live in a pretty spot that has nearby things to do like coffee shops, etc. Thanks!

They are on opposite ends of the world from one another. Where is your job? They're also not the first places one would think of when seeking somewhere "that has nearby things to do like coffee shops, etc.".

We work remotely, so we can basically live anywhere. Looking for good schools, pretty scenery and things to do nearby. Any other city recommendations? We basically just thought of those two cities based on looking online but we really have no idea.

Well that makes it nice! I'm partial to central Phoenix/Arcadia/Biltmore and The Town of Paradise Valley. Look in 85016 and 85018 (85253 if you can afford it too). Central location, views of Camelback, close to just about anything, lots of young families. If you want to be further out to be in the desert scenery, you can't go wrong with north Scottsdale, 85255.

There's coffee shops all over, too many really. You don't need to be in Arcadia or Paradise Valley to be near them. I would say North Peoria has better views than Queen Creek, I would avoid South Peoria however. Other areas that have mountain views in certain communities include Ahwatukee, Goodyear, Buckeye, North Phoenix, Scottsdale and East Mesa.
