Am looking for an area in the greater Phoenix area that is within 45 minutes of Sky Harbor but is still fairly rural with gorgeous scenery. Am familiar with Cave Creek, Carefree and northern Scottsdale of course but looking for other names. Thanks.

Thanks. Should have included them in the "familiar with" preface. Prefer the more rural feel of Cave Creek and Carefree (not to mention the extra 1,000' in elevation) unless there are some tucked away outskirts of PV and FH we haven't seen.

No prob. Btw, those 2 cities I mentioned are home to some of the most expensive real estate in the valley, but since you didn't specify a spending cap I didn't take that into account.

Now if we told you then everybody would know and flock there and it wouldn't be 'not very well known' anymore. j/k... Cave Creek seems to fit your criteria.

Estrella Mountain Ranch in south Goodyear might be worth considering, although it's about an hour to the airport. It's a nice community and definitely rural. We toured a few homes there for sale, spoke to the sales people in the visitor center, but we decided that it was just too far out.

Far east Mesa in the Las Sendas area or perhaps Gold Canyon. Even parts of Apache Junction so close to the lakes with beautiful views of the Superstition mountains.
