Hello and good morning!

We are thinking about where in AZ to relocate to, we homeschool and hubby works remote. We are wanting a larger home(3000 sq ft approx.) with about an acre lot or larger with trees, fruit or others. Not necessarily in the city but we are open to either. We attend church so we are thinking northern phoenix or out of the city proper. Can someone offer suggestions for areas with homes about 400k or less with those things? Or is it better to build? ( cost effective)

Thank you
mom

I'd strongly suggest a week in July to start then see if your family can handle the heat

With that being said, check out Wickenburg

If you work remote, chances are a lot better in Tucson of finding a property like that. I live within hundreds of such properties in NW Tucson.

There is also a spot called Sunburst Farms near 43rd Ave and Greenway with homes on acre plus lots. Plus another area like that near 43rd Ave and Union Hills called Western Meadows. Zoned as horse properties and still very close to town.

3,000 sq ft house on an acre for under $400,000 in the Valley is pretty much non-existent. If you do find one, my guess would be that it needs serious work. Maybe up toward New River, but then you start getting pretty far out there and further away from a lot of the better churches.

I’m a homeschooler too. I think you are waaay underestimating costs here. The closest in I could find of what your looking for was far out northwest of surprise. Surprise itself is an exurb. You need to try a different metro area entirely.

I'm curious: Why would church attendance cause you to favor one of those locations? There are churches all over town -- unless you're looking for a specific denomination that is a little harder to come by.

OP has either 8 or 28 kids so it might be a little tight.
